| Final Burn 0.103! - February 21, '01 by JoseQ
| Well for some this will come as two bits of news at the same time. CPS2Shock released the XOR files for: "Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo" and sooner than you can blink, Dave released a new Final Burn that supports it. You can download this new version of Final Burn from the Emulator Download Page as usual. Other than supporting that new game, it also fixes a bug where CPS1 games would not start if sound was disabled and more. Check out the whatsnew.txt for all the details. Enjoy!

Check the CPS2Shock donation page. It lists all the boards that have been donated. I would expect Saterday Night Slammasters II next.

www.mame.dk is the most complete MAME rom archive I've seen. The downloads aren't terribly fast, but they're very reliable, which suits dial-up users. It also happens to have Street Fighter Alpha 2, which of course is playable on Final Burn.

I just found out about Final Burn about few weeks ago, D&D brought back memories...
But I have a question, you all talked like you had all the roms before Final Burn supported it? I've been wanting AvsP very badly, hope someone can give me a hint on where I can get it..

>I know I had all the ROMS before they were emulated. See, I've been waiting for CPS-2 emulation for some time, and now that it's here I'm totally prepared. My best advise is to hump newsgroups with a good client like newsbin. alt.binaries.emulators.misc

I downloade my cps2 roms during the autumn -99. I thought I'd be prepared for the day. I honestly never thought they would decrypt it. You should try www.aceroms.com , they've got'em all.
Enjoy :D

Is it just me, or is Street Fighter 2 Turbo too damn fast? I even changed the speed to turbo 0 in the dipswitiches and put it on very easy. It is STILL too fast. Is this the same problem they had with sf2 turbo? Any help would be nice.

In the program, click on Input, double-click on CPU speed and change to 0x08. That should be more realistic.

It's at the very bottom of the Input dialog box, as clear as crystal. Make sure you have the latest Final Burn.

within the game, try hitting F2 and entering the configuration menu... there should be a turbo speed setting. I set mine on zero with pleasant results. Hope this info helps you.

SNK was better at butchering the English language than this cute little gimmick ever will be ;)
By the way, great release, Dave! As always, your generosity to the emulation community is appreciated.

I think it just goes to show - that what a good emulator Final Burn really is.
Mame uses drivers to get its roms to work - the interface needs constant tweeking and so the wait for a release is a long one.
Then Final Burn comes along - A rom is released and BAM ! 1 hour later a new release to play it on.
Keeep up the good work guys - everyone is having fun right now.
P.S - This was not a put down on MAME - I love that emulator and cant wait for the new MAME32 to come out.
Let the good times roll !!!!

I have waited over 6 years to play Alien vs Predator. Here in Eskilstuna/Sweden they don't have alot of arcades so I'm ecstatic.
