New PSX Emu in Development! - June 9, '98 by JoseQ
A new PSX Emulator is in development. The authors are very confident this will be one very fast emulator since it is based on dynamic recompilation which apparently is a faster method of doing emulation rather than just interpretation. They have set up a Home Page for people to read News stating that it will be updated very often. The URL is http://come.to/psyke or http://www.nayma.com/psyke/split.html.
The authors RaskY and Fab4 asked a couple of us Site admins to post the news about Psyke with emphasis on it not being fake as many people had thought. There will be something to show (download) from them possibly this week.
In terms of whats working and whats not, they have the CPU almost done, Memory Access is all done and so on (you can read more from their page). Still the CD-ROM emulation is not done, so they have been testing with downloadable demos from the web. 3Dfx is also in their plans to be emulated. Sounds cool huh? Another one to keep our eyes on. Stay in touch with EV for updates on this upcoming Emu!
