Phew, great news I've seen, and it's time I relay to you EV readers. But
first a note to thank Zwaxy of MAME
Action Replay Page for pointing out the extra MAME ROM I had running
around. The game was Alien Storm, was incorrectly into the database as
being also on MAME .33b4. No wonder I had more ROMs than there are
available for MAME. Apparently the count is correct now.
|EV News - S16 DirectX News, Etc. - June 10, '98 by JoseQ
Now for the S16 DX news. Bartman has announced on his site that
everything seems to be working fine. Besides not updating yesterday, work
has continued and now Fullscreen 8bit and 16bit modes are working. Even
Eagle graphics are working on this port. Now the best news to all of us
to which vsync looked better but slower. Vsync doesnt cause the same
performance hit it caused in the DOS version. That's right, no performance

you'll be excited too!
In other news, the UNIX version of MESS has also been released and
has been sitting on the Emulator page for a while now. However there have
been no downloads for it. Apparently there arent that many UNIX users, although
I'm one of them, I'm not fond of playing EMUs in this machine. I might get
On a side note, there is much speculation about the existence of this
CAPxtra emulator because of all the mysteroisness regarding Callus, the
mentioning of 3Dfx which has nothing to do with any of the CPS2 games
that most people know of, the smallness of the screenshots, the headers
in there as well as the bars, etc. It really is something to think about, and
we will keep a close eye on it. If anything comes out, you'll be sure to read
about it here.
Thanks for reading!
