Elevator Action - 20081999120000 by Shadow Lord
Game:Elevator ActionCompany:Taito
Type:PlatformPlayers:1/2

To break into a high-rise building swarming with evil spies armed only with a single automatic pistol is an preposterous scenario that is possible for everyone to experience, thanks to this 1980s arcade classic.
As the James Bond clone in this game, you must shoot the bad guys before they shoot you, using fancy footwork and elevator trickery to get the upper hand. You can duck and jump over incoming fire, and shoot out the lamps to make the hallways dark. The reward of the simple interface makes these swashbuckling moves very easy.
When I think of Elevator Action, I think of the good ol' BBS acronym: WYSIWYG. (W)hat Y)ou S)ee I)s W)hat Y)ou G)et.) This game doesn't try to burden you with a story. Who you are, why you are invading this building, what is in the briefcases and who these enemy spies are; these are questions that just aren't important, I suppose. Elevator Action is fun, exciting and not very complicated. However, it is also shallow and repetitive. Navigate the building, get in the red doors, get to the escape car. That's about it. If you are easily bored, this isn't the game for you.
MAME is a touch slow emulating this game, but its still very playable. The music is choppy, but the controls are quite responsive.
So if you're looking for a light little diversion, one that doesn't tax your concentration, this could be the one for you. If you are big into plot development, and dynamic, changing games, you probably got off on the wrong floor.
