Well, if last week was a busy week for the Q-meister, this one has been worse, and to top it all off, I won't have any internet connection from home until nextMonday. However, I'm here diligently delivering on the Rumor Mill promise ofWednesday nights. And although content-wise this may not seem like muchI do have some exclusive screenshots to show you and I'm sure you've likedwhen I've done this in the past. So let's get right on to the Rumors!
|The Rumor Mill - August 11,1999 by JoseQ
I would like to first stop by the emulator which is probably the mostregular hot item of the Mill, Raine. Rumor has it that a release has been inpreparation for very soon. I don't know how much Emulation World's troublesmay affect this schedule, but I think that this weekend will be a Rainy one, butthat's just what I've heard, who knows what actually happens right? If it doeshappen, you can count on EmuViews to deliver the goodies, as you're usedto finding them here, screenshots included.
And speaking of screenshots, want to get a little taste of one of last week'srumors? This one was confirmed yesterday when someone sent me a couple ofMAME taken screenshots of two games which were rather not very popular, orat least not where I was at the time. You may be asking yourself: "Which two games? Only rumored gameI knew of was 'Guardians of the Hood'!". Well, it turns out that yet another game knownas Road Riot also works on similar hardware. The bad news is that both of thesegames are badly protected (nope, you won't notice it from the screenshots), andit might be a while before you see them in MAME. The games reset themselvesin the midle of gameplay, due to that very strong protection. Still, I'm sure you wantto take a look, so here you go:Guardians of the Hood 1
Guardians of the Hood 2
Guardians of the Hood 3
Road Riot 1
Road Riot 2
Road Riot 3
You might have also heard some rumors about a new Nintendo 64 emulatorcoming out this coming Friday. It is said to be equal in performance to UltraHLEor even better. It has been kept quite secretly, but some of my correspondantshave confirmed its existence, let's just see what happens this friday.Well, sad but true, that's all I have for this edition of the Mill. I hope the screenshots makeup for the short content. Next week it should be a different story, as I should be donewith all the hectic personal businesses, I should also have a good connection fromhome, and life will be good. Until then, Q-Mill out.
