ZSNES 0.986 released! - November 24,1999 by JoseQ
A new version of ZSNES has been released! You can download the C version of this emulator from theEmulatorDownload Page. The ASM version (less compatible) isavailable at the ZSNES page following the link above. This releasere-adds sound-buffering which was going to be re-writtenbut wasn't since it wasn't worth the trouble, also fixessome triple-buffering bugs while nVidia cards stillsuffer from some flickering, and simulated triple-bufferingfor non-VESA 3.0 cards which should work like v-sync butfaster. It seems the author is loosing interest incontinuing development on this project, so I guess it'stime to let them know how much we appreciate it, don'tyou think? Thanks to Retrogamesfor the news!

Congrats for making one of the major dents on the emulation scene. Without the great ZSNES effort, im sure emulation wouldnt be as popular as it is today. Its even extending its reach to NSW in Australia, so all that can be said is LONG LIVE THE mi.T ZSNES!!!

Instead of posting here why don't you all flood the suckers with appreciation emails?
Zsnes shouldn't be stoped right now, maybe in a couple of more versions, it's so damn close to perfect....

Your emulator has to be one of the best available for any console and I really hope that you decide to continue it's devlopment.
If not then I just want to say that I really appreciate all of your work.
By the way - is there anywhere that I could send a small cash contriubution? I'm sure that there are a lot of people who wouldn't mind helping out in this way.

Heya,

Gazoo here from NRC, and I have to say that Zsnes is one of the most completed and presentable Emulators there are around... No, wait... Scratch that... Zsnes is probably THE most presentable emulator around because it does what it should incredibly well and more. I hope that this isen't then end since it's so close to completion and I'd hate to see it stop now <:) - But if you do stop, I'm still behind you guys all the way... So - Keep up the good work (I hope <:D)!

I first downloaded Zsnes a long time ago. While all the other emulators needed switches and tweaking, Zsnes was good right out of the box. And while most other emulators crashed often, had numerous annoying bugs, Zsnes didn't.

Zsnes was my favorite from day 1 and it still is today.

Many thanks to the Zsnes team, if you do throw in the towel, then have a cold one on me :)
(unless you're under 18 eheheh )

I still can't get my Sidewinder to work.
Could my USB Gravis Gamepad pro joysticks be interfering? Please, someone, help! I miss ZSNES. I can't even get my Maxfire G07 to work on ZSNES anymore (when I disconnect my Sidewinder) and that stick IS DOS. ;(

I remember a time, not that long ago, when the zenith of emulation, was to try to get a perfect NES emulator. What you guys have done is to push the bar way beyond with your awesome emulator. I would love to see you continue, but if you don't , thanks for the endless hours of joy you have given me and thousands more out there. KUDOS!

Your guy's emulator is what got me started on emulation over two years ago. It's the best, and gave me all of what I needed to see that emulation was a worthy hobbie! Please continue, it would be great to see if you guys could get games like Piotwings and Dirt Trax FX to work. If this is the end, thanks for everything, I will still use your emulator no matter what SNES9X comes out with!

Zsnes has been the highlight in emulation for me and when i check your homepage and see an update i'm playin with it staight away theres not much I can say that others haven't said. Just look at the Zsnes Shrines and help pages all across the NET and see what an impact you have made on a large section of the Emulation community
But if it is the END:( thats guys for all the Great work you've done and the enjoyment given me with this emulator

No, it can't be =(. zsKnight, _Demo_, you guys are geniuses in developing Zsnes. When I first used your emu, Snes0x was in it's v.24, I began using your emu because it had game genie support. A lot of my friends told me that Zsnes would never make it big. YOu know what? I laugh in their face now. Zsnes has a SHIT LOAD of AWESOME video options/GUI flexibility/Gamepad support. Zsnes will live for a long time. If you guys decide to leave the project, your best wishes from me and all of the emulation fans around the world!! Peace out, Zsnes will be in History for all of us to remember =)

Hey zsKnight and _Demo_, you guys are awesome! ZSNES is one heck of a SNES emulator, and in my opinion it even surpasses Snes9X by far! We would all really miss all the great work you've put into this emulator if you leave the scene - there's still more to be done!
