I am perfectly aware that this is an alpha release... and as such some things may have become broken... I am just wondering if anyone else has noticed twinqix dying (or if it is just my system).. it works fine in 25c.. and loads ok in 27a but when you go to play it it page faults...

I know this game got broken once before.. and I figure something similar may have happened again.

That being said... for an Alpha release it is a mighty fine one... Keep up the great work Raine Team... and hey I've still got v25c so I can always use it to play twinqix!!!

Its not just you or your system... Its happening to me too. I also get the Page Fault Crash Screen with Twin Qix. Thats ok... I'll do the same thing you did and crack out the 25c. Raine still kicks-ass!

I can't speak for Aracorn or Org on Romlist, but I believe I remember reading somewhere that they plan releases in a timely manner to prevent server bloat (which has been the death of more than one dumping site), flooding of stupid questions about getting new roms to work, and to just keep everything nice. I mean, it is kinda nice having a couple weeks to mess around with a game instead of banging away on a couple dozen that you just downloaded, yeah? ;)

Quite the contrary. Grid Seeker has already been dumped, by Aracorn of Romlist. It's just a matter of time till they decide to release it. So, keep on eye on www.romlist.com and this site. Since Romlist is hosted (I think) by Emu Views, it could show up on either site any time.

    Subject: Sound in Raine
    From:
There are a lot of games without sound in my config of Raine 0.25. Why could that be ? I choose 'Sound Blaster / 22050 / Hardware emulation' and have a PII-400 w/ 128Mb Ram and SB Live Value.
Any hint for tracking what could be wrong ?
BTW the Raine team works OK, each new release gives a lot of new games and of different kind too. Congrats.

    from the rainefaq

For the Soundblaster Live soundcards it's better that you run Raine without a frontend.
There are some settings you can make. Basically set it up to use Sounblaster (Option 1),
and make sure you have a blaster enviroment setting in you autoexec.bat.
Then you need to run the Creative sb16 emulation, which again requires a memory manager
to be loaded (emm386.exe for example).

Best solution is to buy a cheap ISA soundblaster compatible. It'll happily
co-exist with your SBLive, as long as you have a free irq & dma to use.

also make sure u are playing a game with sound support
some of the newer games dont have sound because of protection or unemulated chips

Taito F3 games (and a few others) do not have sound emulation working quite yet. No one else gets sound in a lot of Raine games. Calm down.

No grr. Gunlock is Taito F3. It will be a VERY big event if they can Taito F3 sound to work.

In order to emulate sound hardware you need documentation, if that's hard to get, sound doesn't happen, hence no sound in Taito F3.

Check the docs so you have a better understanding.

Jose Q, The Rom that Raine 27a requires is Kuri Kinton (Alternative). Not the first version Kuri Kinton. The First version is posted on your Raine 27a Page.
