we all may as well get use to using mame32 when Windows 2000 comes out and makes MS DOS a thing of the past.

I can´t think of a reason to port that 'DOS' thing into the 21st century...
Get decent computers and everything will run smoothly.
Ever tried a GeForce 256 ? Match it with a PIII-600 or K7 and bury DOS!

for the ideal consumer then you are correct (ideal as in what big companies want you to be).
but heaps of people still use dos programs daily, including smaller companies and the like. if your company is still running an important dos based database which win2000 rejects, then that company will have little or no reason to want w2000.
also it would be a great shame to see all those dos programs and games no longer useable on modern machines. but heres where PC emulation is a good thing

true, i do believe that dos has no real place in the future, but the future specs of pc's are going to loose a lot of hardware support (eg no ISA slots). basicly the big boys are trying to force PC's into their own custom machine. like slowly mutating one machine type into another.

Mame32 is awesome. I'd use DOS Mame if it had an integrated GUI and support the myriad controllers that DirectInput does, but it doesn't.

I think it's really lame and childish to say anything as cool as MAME32 sux. MAME32 is the only game that doesn't get tiresome and deleted from my harddrive.

Hmm, spent all night thinking up that argument did we?
Yes MAME32 requires more power but if you have that power then there's no contest.
