If you take a look at the Raine Emulator Home Page you'll notice that pics have been postedfor 'Continental Circus', the racing game. The game looksquite good and should be supported come the next publicrelease. Also the announcement of Warlock's Emulation Status Page being hosted with them. In there you can find adatabase of games and their status within emulation. Thanksto Retrogames for the news.

I like mame, but raine is so far superior in my opinion. Raine emulated 10 times faster than mame. Every raine game i have runs like lightning. I only have a couple without sound, out of like 150 of them. Raine and Callus are by far the fastest, least bugged arcade emulators. Im sorry but mame just cant compare. I do love the fact that just about any game imaginable you can run on mame, but tons of them are SLOW.

the only obvious problem i see with raine is some games have no sound, otherwise its a pretty awesome emulator.

Thanks for your compliment. Yes, Raine has no sound in some games, this is due or to lack of emulation of the soundchip (F3 System games), or due to protection problems (Toaplan games).
Other than that, all the other games have full sound.

I did`nt mean that either was rubbish, or that either was better than the other, just that with a true joint development team things could progress more smoothly, and would also mean that not more than one person/team was working on a certain piece of coding at the same time, which i`m sure must happen, when the time could be put to better use fine tuning current drivers and adding support for the last truly great unemulated old arcade games(mine are personally powerdrift and afterburner, something about the music!?!), anyway, they are both great emulators, and even if they do not work together, I hope that the developers keep in touch so as to avoid what I said earlier about cross-developing,(P.S. i`m fairly sure (not certain) mame used the source from callus and definately used the source from system16, this is not a bad thing at all as it would be a complete waste of time to re-code it when the origional code was fine), see ya.

anyone that thinks raine is poor in terms of features/support and development is either very, very stupid or on crack.

You guys are full of it!!

Raine is one of the best emus ever!!

They are one of the hardest working crews there is!

How else can you explain all of the games that no other emu supports. Other emus fade away and Raine just keeps going!

MAME does not incorporate other emulators as much as they eventually add support for the games that the other emus support and then the authors of the other emus stop development. There was no help in any way from the Callus team to add CPS1 to MAME. Someone else simply added it.

The games will make it to MAME eventually. However, we should THANK the Raine team for bringing us the games before MAME did!

Thanks guys!!! You're the best!

I feel that since MAME and sys16, and even callus joined together, that Raine should too.
Raine is THE WROST emulator I have ever seen and they need major improvement.

This isn't a competition, btw. ;)

Just name the "features" it lacks, please so we can "improve" Raine.

I have to agree with Sixtoe about melding the Ems together. Raine is nowhere near as good in terms of maintenance, options and true complete emulation. I'm sure people who have both know what I'm talking about, and I'm sure Jose knows, so how about the Raine crew waking up? Huh? HUH?

In terms of maintenance, sure there aren't dozens of programmers coding Raine, but when there is a release there is usually unemulated games and tons of new features in Raine.
As for options are you sure you read the docs? There are tons of features and options added in each version.
As for true complete emulation, see the zooming, the led emulation, save game, cheat engine, langauges translations, the speed, the...if you mean the lack of sound in some games or not perfect emulation in some
games that happens in all emulators.

I may be being a bit stupid about this, but would`nt it be a good idea to join Raine and Mame together, like they did with System16 and Mame, the joint developement would mean that a lot of the bugs in Raine would be sorted out, like the lack of sound in some games, and the tatio games in Mame would work. Even if they did`nt join the at least could they have some sort of cross development where they shared some of the knowledge required to program the emulators themselves (or does this already go on?), or more likely I just dont get it do I??
Anyway, merry christmas and a happy new year from sunny(or not) England*****

System16 and MAME never joined together. Thierry Lescot was part of the MAMEDEV team and contributed with his knowledge for the addition
of some games, as well as Andrew Prime. Once the
S16 source became available, then it could be used as reference, but emulators within themselves are too different to be merged together, specially Raine and MAME.
