MAME 0.36 Beta 15! - January 21,2000 by JoseQ
Throwing releases at a very decent pace is MAME don't you think? Yetanother release came out today. You can download it from theEmulatorDownload Page. Just three new games were added to this release while the source includes the usual color fixes, driver improvements and other miscellaneous changes. The listof games supported as of Beta 15 is as follows:

  • Great 1000 Miles Rally [Luca Elia]
  • Shanghai [Nicola Salmoria]
  • Gee Bee [Juergen Buchmueller]

There has been quite a few core changes going on during this beta cycle so expect more betas to keep coming out for quite a while. These three ROMs should be appearing at the MAME 0.36b15 ROMs Page. Enjoy!

You know...you are all getting to play these games for free...yet you complain about the releases (or lack thereof.) Why don't you just accept what you are being given? These developers are busting their butts to provide this service to you. I'm sure they don't get very much in return for their efforts. Instead of pissing and moaning, how about a sending a word of encouragement to the developers, and showing some patience. Keep up the good work MAME Dev. team!

    Altered Beast (missing files)
    Fantazy Zone (missing files)
    Devil Zone (missing files)
    Demon's World (Screen blackouts)
    Twin Cobra (Screen blackouts)
    Flying Shark (Screen blackouts)

    --------------
could someone test these roms with the
latest version of mame beta 36b15 and let me know how it goes. Thank you.

Have you checked that the roms you are using are correct - with a new version of mame will always incur changes in roms especialy Proms

Check some other web sites and find new versions of these roms - I think you will be surprised

As for Win32 version - lets hope its soon - but I would rather have a stable Mame32 then a rushed unstable one !!!!

What's up with the Windows version of MAME? Beta 15 and no 32? I hope the next 32 release is a final one.

    Subject: non-beta mame versions
    From:
I think the whole idea of non-beta versions of mame is really out dated. It seems like after the last few non-beta releases there has been a new beta following within a couple days. Personally I think the Mame team should just acknowledge that the project is an ongoing work and never really leaves the beta state and instead come up with a numbering system to better reflect the way things are working. Perhaps something like Mame 1.2.3 where 1 is the "stable" or non-beta version, the 2 would be the beta revision since the last stable build and the 3 would be the minor revision within the current build for things like fixing the verify code.

    Just my thoughts.

You should be grateful that you've gotten a chance to relive the past and play old arcade games for free. Mame team has done us a huge favour, more than anyone could ever want it. They do it for free and for fun. Stop complaining. the beta version..it's just a number. That's all. Who cares. Just relax and play the games.

its a message board, opinions are encouraged. there are too many brownosers for emu authors, and in their effort to defend mame, disrespect anticupid. foolish. the mans opinons were valid, and whats wrong with improvements? get off your high horses ppl.
