NESten 0.6 Beta Cataclysm! - February 20,2000 by JoseQ
My personal favorite NES emulator NESten has been updated to yet another beta of version 0.6. You can download version 0.6 Beta Cataclysm from the Emulator Download Page. You can expect to see fixed problems with SAVE RAM, some crash problems gone, adds a 'reset configuration' and 'recently opened files', and it remembers the Window position and size. And we wish Happy Birthday to TNSe! Congratulations on your birthday anda great emu!

Even if an emulator runs only SMB1, it cannot be ignored, because the programmer did work (and a piece of him time, life etc). If you love an emulator as "pretty perfect", i guess you are sending all the others to recycled bin.

Not sure what you meant by this comment... I never ignore emus, and actually in the case of consoles have many to use depending on the game I would want to play.

If you're saying that because I said it's my personal favorite, that doesn't mean I don't have all the other NES emulator on my NES emulation directory, because I do. But right now, running Windows 2000, NESten performs the best for me.

Well, playing an emulator under a new OS with 65000 know bugs & problems? :-) If you see latest EmuHQ poll result, not much ppl have Win2k yet.

If a DOS emulator does not work well under Win2k, its a Micro$oft problem to be in a service pack fix :-P

Well, nobody said anything about the 1.2 million bugs on Windows 98, did they? =P

Thus far, this one works better for me, so I'm betting that Windows 98 has more problems. Anyhow, the reason I'm using it is because I have a dual processor system, and 98 does nothing for the second one. NT has 0 game support, and doesn't do FAT32, so Win 2K is the safest bet just yet. I don't expect it to be the choice of people, as I'm fully aware that 98 should be for the majority of the people, but for me, Win2K is the most stable, and fastest solution.
