Snes9x News! - February 28,2000 by JoseQ
An update has finally happened at the Snes9x Developer's Journal. While there hasn't been any releasefor over a month now, work has progressed on the emulator. Thanks to the SPC Tool author, some of the sounds thatwere previously unemulated, are now working correctly, although this has broken a few more sound samples; work on this continues. Anti Resonance's SPC Tool source is beingtweaked so that parts of it can be included in Snes9X source. The conversion from 16-bit to 32-bit may take a while. Network play is another feature being worked on, while no GUI is yet available, games are already being played in Gary's home LAN. Much work left to be done on that. Another set of good news is a fix in the auto-frameskip code, which for those people with machines that got close to 100% performance but not quite, would make it skip even more. So you should try it again now if you weren't getting full speed, because some games are now much more playable on slower machines. Check out the Developer's Journame for much more detailed descriptions on what I just typed. Remember, by visiting your emu author pages, is how you can better support them.performance
