HGA Reviewed! - August 07,2000 by JoseQ
If you want to learn about the GW Trading's Home Game Arcade System, PeterD has been kind enough to write a Review on Emulation H.Q., a great emulation site. The Home Game Arcade System (HGA for short), is the next best thing to having your own JAMMA compatible cabinet at home. It is actually a JAMMA compatible console, complete with portable arcade style sticks for two players and it's not that expensive. Check out the review for all the details. I'm happy to comment that I should be receiving a Review unit very soon, so in the same fashion I will be posting my Views on it, along with most likely a musical video. In the meantime, check out PeterD's review.

I am sorry you have had such a negative experience with this unit. Have you attempted to contact Great Western? I suggest sending them a email about your problems as they are very supportive and wisht o make every customer feel right. You are the first person who has had these complaints, its possible that you simply got a defective unit as we have them manufacturered in mass. Contact Great Western at sales@gwtrading.com and they will make things right by you I am certain.

Yes, I work for them on occasion.

Here's my review of the HGA system. I have owned mine for about six months now and am very upset with the system. The controllers are awful. They are very hard and you have to push hard to get contact. Some of the buttons on my system were used and sticky. Like someone spilled soda on them. The main unit literally fell apart on me. It has the power supply and color control knobs inside. Well the unit generates heat so the glue that holds the box started melting. I had to nail the box together to keep it from falling apart. A few pins on the JAMMA harnass also broke inside and I had to resolder them. Lastly, if you own a Sony TV and want to play Midway games (Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, etc) you must take your TV to the repair shop because there will be vertical scan lines constantly scrolling across the screen. Overall, the system stinks and needs alot of work. I would recommend doing a search of super guns on the net to find better units.

Here's my review of Team Static: no url, no email, no clout.

Of course if this is genuine, I'm curious to see if this person has ever contacted GWTrading, cause we all know that the owner goes WAY out of his way to make things 100% cool for customers. :-)

I apologize for Peter's reply, he did not mean to come off arrogant or anything. Great Western has been in business for 20 years. We believe firmly in customer service. If anyone has any issue, no matter how slight that causes them to not enjoy our HGA, they can contact us and we will take care of them. Thats our promise.

Our contact info is: sales@gwtrading.com

My personal address is reflex@ulantris.com if you have any questions about this.

Thank you for your time. ;>
