AMAME and PMAME Updated! - August 27,2000 by JoseQ
Rodimus Prime seems to be very good at recovering from hard drive crashes, already with updated versions of AMAME and PMAME. These are CPU optimized versions of MAME created with AMD and Pentium processors in mind. You should definitely try them and see what they do for you. However, always keep in mind that while these are accepted releases, you should not report bugs about MAME based on them. You should always try the official MAME build to confirm that a bug exists and it's not caused by CPU optimizations, etc. I do recommend you at least try them out.

Sometimes just another 2 or 3 frames per second will take a game from unplayable to playable. If you're already getting close to full speed out of a game then you may not perceive any obvious improvement.
