ZSNES 1.0 and more! - September 01,2000 by JoseQ
Update: As promised, the Windows version has also been released and you can download it from the usual Emulator Download Page. When they said 'soon' I didn't think they meant this quickly! We're all happy right? Enjoy!
Some great news coming from the ZSNES camp, and some sad news. First the good news of course: Version 1.0 of this awesome emulator is available for download from the Emulator Download Page. While the version nomenclature by no means signals a 'final' or 'perfect' version, zsKnight mentions that the core is at a good enough state for it to wear that version number. The sad news of all this is that zsKnight is leaving the emulation coding scene soon to focus into more important and fruitful topics such as starting his career in game development. However, more good news were posted in today's update. Among them, the fact that ZSNES will be turning itself open for other developers to pick up on it. While the project is mainly developed in Assembler, this might still prove to be a bit helpful to some people and some talented coders may decide to jump in the project later on. More good news? The Windows port of ZSNES will also be released soon in alpha form. There's still a few bugs to be worked out and after that, it should be available for download. TCP/IP will also be included, and that shall be the last thing zsKnight works on before he leaves. Check out the ZSNES site for the whole update which is more complete and detailed. In the meantime, download ZSNES 1.0 and enjoy!
