No UltraHLE in 2000! - September 07,2000 by JoseQ
Reality Man has updated his Jagulator homepage with news about his doings, and what we should expect to see (or not see) in the coming months. Being busy with his move to Canada, work on UltraHLE has been most of what he has been doing on his spare time. However, focus will now move to Jagulator leaving UltraHLE officially on hold "until the new year". These are sad news for UltraHLE fans who have been waiting for this new release for quite a long time. However, Atari Jaguar emulation should be nice, since like UltraHLE it would be the first of it's kind. The Atari Jaguar is probably the only major console of it's generation that has not been succesfully emulated yet. Hopefully Reality Man can do something about that. We'll see!

Who the $!@# cares about UltraHLE? It was good when it came out, now Nemu64 is FAAAAAAAAAAAR better. The cpu emulation of nemu is so much better than ultrahles one, witch makes it a much more compatible one! Some says its slow, it's not, your computer is!

So what if he promised this or that, and no matter how he got it to us, he still got Ultra to us, and if I created something as awesome as an N64 emulator, or Dreamcast emulator, and you all talked sh!t like this, well, I guess I`d probably never want to release sh!t to anybody much less a second version or anything like that EXCEPT for myself!!!! Most of you sound like a bunch of leeches, why don`t you all learn to code and maybe you`ll understand. Fith-Selok

AHHHHHHHHHHHH! I just want a patch for the mario can't jump high bug that WORKS with a hammerheadFX joypad because the analog stick works great. Soundblaster live support and opengl or directx would be a big plus too. The tnt2 wrappers make the screen blink when using a geforce. The sound stutters with a sblive but works great with a sb64,

Daves vintage gaming (www.vintagegaming.com) states that realityman is switching because he no longer knows what he is doing on N64 work. I don't know how accurate this is however. Can anyone collaborate this story? It states that Reality man did mostly Windows work on the Ultrahle, and that we will probably never see a new release, if ever.
I do find it suspicious that with all the work going on (supposedly thats what he's been busy working on) that he is not releasing his work now as a beta build. Normally if a dev drops a project for an extendec period, they either release the source, or a beta to keep thier minions happy.

While I think it sux that UltraHLE 2 has been put on hold. It's good to know that the Jagulator is going to get some seriouse work! Besides that, realityman has been working his ass off, you gotta give em' that. I miss playing my Jaguar and JagCD, it was the base system was broken a while back and I am broke so it will be nice to have an emu to play games on.

Working his ass off? how do you know that? He hasn't released anything in almost 2 years, implied he would have another release 6 months ago, and now tells us nothing till maybe next year! If he has worked his ass off, he should release that work as a beta, so he can see all that effort put to use.
Im sorry I don't usually like to critisize but it just seems to be either
1.fishy or
2. kinda rude

But hey he can what he wants, it just hurts his credability is all. IMHO.

P.S. Whats with "Excuse Me" BS?? Go to hell vally boy!

Yes I am programmer and yes I have released it. And I never put my credability in jeopardy like he did by:
posting things like, his promise of an almost ready version2 back around the anniversery of the first release, posting pics of games supposedly working better, etc.
Doing all this and then saying oops I have nothing for you and you'll have to wait till next year or later. That is the real BS! If his project was as good as he said it was, a beta release was called for, especially if he is putting it on hiatus! What is the real shame is that it's wasted if that work was 'actually' done and never used. Now he has decided to 'take his toys and go home'.
Oh well. There are at least 2 other projects now, so it is no loss, anymore.

FYI, I didn't say he had to 'devote his life to programming' , the other person was implying that he did, and I was pointing out the fact that if he did then its wasted if he didn't release it.

What the hell does being a valley boy have to do with asking 'Excuse ME?' I was using it in context.

My controller for my Jaguar broke! So it'll be nice playing Rayman, Tempest 2000, and Defender 2000 again! I think I still have the blue lightning cd, too. So hopefully the emu will also have CD support.

Yes, I must admit, I really loved my 3DO too. I had to sell it to afford a playstation when ps first came out. I had tons of fun on my 3DO, and I would also love to see it emulated>
