S.T.U.N. Runner Driver submitted! - September 08,2000 by JoseQ
For those that are interested in this project (yes, all of you!), the driver for S.T.U.N. Runner has been officially submitted to MAMEDEV! As you all probably know, Aaron Giles has been working on this for quite some time, and recently got it to working status. Other games like "Hard Drivin'" and "Race Drivin'" still have a few bugs, so if they make it onto the next beta, they might be qualified as Preliminary or even Test drivers. Another reminder is not to expect good (or even acceptable) performance on these games if you don't have a high end PC. They require quite a bit of power although no specifics were mentioned on Aaron's note. We will possibly see new postings about this on the MAME Work In Progress page today.

I wonder if mame will support steering wheels and force feed back to make the emmulation experence more real. the speed at which hard driv'n requires is 1.4 ghz, but whats realy scarry thing is to try run daytona usa! now that is a power hog.

I thought Race Drivin was currently unemulatable
because of undocumented custom hardware and
slapstic. Has there been progress on this game?

Actually, Aaron mentioned in a follow-up note that he was getting 50 to 60 fps on S.T.U.N. Runner with his 933-MHz machine. DISCLAIMER: Before people start posting "K3wl! I oughta git 75 fps with my aw3s0m3 1.1-GHz box!", this is not meant to be a benchmark spec. Your mileage may vary.
