New SNES9X! - October 07,2000 by JoseQ
Two releases of Snes9X have occurres during the last two days. Gary has updated the Download section on the Snes9x page with the files. You can get them from there. The second release only had fixed OpenGL support, so if you don't use it and already have version 1.32, you don't need it. Changes going into this version from the previous release are: Optimized DMA Handling slightly, "Chuch Rock" should work now but only through special handling, and many other things. Be sure to check the News section on the Snes9x site for all the changes (there's quite a few!). Enjoy!

What are you talkin about Jose'?

What you mean if you don't use OpenGL?
Any fool that don't try OpenGL in bilinear mode is twice more of a fool then he's originally is.

I can't even begin to think about playing any Snes game in basic vinalla software mode.

Try using it with the imperfect Voodoo2 - 3DFX's imperfectness in bilinear filtering makes the video mode a natural to emulate tv screen on your expensive monitor. This Emu rocks!

BTW,

For you laming 16 bit loving, Dos playing, Win95 usin' fools - ZSNES is the best system .... yeah right!
Aside from the expirimental alpha 32bit version - Ever try using Znes in Win2k? You can't!! It's only for DOS

Until Znes team get's their head out of thier ass and drop the 16-bit Dos only crap it will NEVER be an emu of choice for the future 32 Bit Operating system. The 32 bit version is in the back burner and look to be in a dead water for a long time.

Actually, ZSNES *is* 32-bit, it's a 32-bit DOS application (no, DOS apps don't have to be 16-bit, 32-bit DOS extenders like DOS4GW fixed that limitation years ago)

However, it is precisely _because_ it's a 32-bit app that it can't run under Win2K and NT..

FYI, I haven't seen a DOS emu that *wasn't* 32-bit..

Technicly, DOS is a command interpreter, not an OS, it's not like Windows, Linux, etc. where programs run "under" it, rather, it's more like a launchpad for them, just because DOS itself is 16-bit doesn't mean that you can't use it to launch 32-bit applications (which is what a DOS extender is for)

Which one is better? ZSnes or Snes9x?
