Pretendo dead? - November 20,2000 by JoseQ
It seems that one of the most widely known NES emulators, Pretendo has moved from the public light into the private sector. In a very lengthy statement posted by Eli, the emulator was put to rest, although it will still continue being developed privately with releases going to trusted people, friends and people who get into the private program via contributions, such as NES cartridges. The posting goes into detail as to why they have taken this sharp turn in development and honestly, there's not much to say after you read through the whole thing. Eli makes some good points that may be partially or fully justifiable. I can only wish him and PrOxY the best of luck in their new endeavors. I hope that we can eventually see some new flavor in Pretendo. Only time will tell.

Wow. EMUGUY, you are a complete moron. First of all, your english sucks. Secondly, you're only making yourself look dumber by comparing a NES emulator with AGES, which is a Sega emulator. Get a clue dude.

I'm an emulator fan, i like plaing old games, and i'm a very nostalgic fellow.
I'm also an ignorante in programing, and even playing games i'm not great. Thus, i'm here to show all my respect and admiration for everyone who delivers an emulator, it demands knowledge, knowledge that i don't have.
I respect all emulator authors a lot, because without them, i wouldn't be able to play all my favorite games of ancient times and systems. Keep up the good work and cheer up, lads, because some jerks make fun of you, some of us love you.

Let's be fair. Sure, there are a ton of NES emulators out there (more than I would ever care to use), but I think Eli has some valuable points. Calling him stupid and whatever else only proves his point about how lame the whole emulation community has become. How would you feel?

Pretendo gone???
oh well, his emulator sucked anyway. there a tonne of better ones out and even if his emulator was good who really cares??? the Nintendo was a good system but there is so much better emulators of other systems out that you don't need a Nintendo one. ili or Eli, whatever his name is pretty stupid for taking his emu out of the light, i thought the only reason he made his junky Nintendo emu was to be noticed, but oh well, i guess i'll just stick with ages, there pretty much the only ones accutaly tring to make an emu that wasn't created yet, it's called originality and ages has it wriiten all over them. ages rocks!!!!!!

Its posts like your that make emu authors quit. I know the Authors and they worked very hard for what they accomplished in their spare time you can at least show some respect that they made a effort not like you just critizing them for their work. Good luck Delta and proxy
