Hot Rod Awarded... - January 08,2001 by JoseQ
I just wanted to take a brief moment to congratulate the "EmuViews Re-Design Contest" winner, Adam. He will be receiving his 'Hot Rod SE' unit shortly. As voted by the EmuViews visitors, Adam won by a narrow but noticeable margin of 2%, which makes him the lucky owner of a Hot Rod. This doesn't mean that EmuViews will be changed in it's design, although part of it might be used in the future as an alternative for those that like it. Please congratulate Adam on winning the last Hot Rod awarded by EmuViews. Congratulations Adam!

Did you Clear the Chads Out from the Channel? I think we Need to Examine the Machine used to Determine the outcome

Just came by, and saw the results of the contest, then saw the comments. I'd like to clear my name.

I am Lopantu, Bender - I have just recently stopped using those names as you can see on my site http://www.laseremu.com - I stopped using Bender all together - I am Lopantu on IRC - Mickey is always taken :) - I was Bender when I entered this contest, which was a while ago.

Most people probably don't even know we were the same people - JoseQ didn't know when I came into his chat as Bender with news on Laser one day :)

When I entered the contest, I knew I wouldn't win - I really suck at webdesign which you can tell by my site :)

Congratulations Adam on winning - and I'm sorry about the trouble my little imposter caused.

1st can i say thanks to everyone that voted and thanks to JoseQ for honouring his word :) ill send some pics to emuviews when i get the Hotrod setup :)

As for the allegations of cheating from bender designer of site 2, can i just say theres no need to be a sore loser. If I wanted a Hotrod as bad as you, I would just buy one :) instead of spitting out my dummy.

I absolutely loved the flash menu design four used! VERY COOL!
with the chatting pacmen/women when chat was clicked and the all the other cool stuff... in my opinion that was the best or at least the funest design... give that person a complimentary hotrod jose!

I agree - that Flash menu was the most creative thing I've seen yet for this kind of stuff. JoseQ, if you do redesign your site based on any of these, I sincerely hope you consider making a Flash-enabled site using that menu or some variation of it. It's the kind of fresh design talent we don't see much of these days.

Hooray for the cheater.

He voted more to win! He was 10% behind one day, then miraculously he was ahead the next.

This is the mentality of most of the people in the emulation scene - they want something for free - they don't care what it takes to get it.

It makes me sick.

So mummy won`t buy you one will she?
Sheesh...I really despise sore loosers, Adam`s site came out on top, and lets face it: It was the best one! It had the best structured design, and was overall most stylish. Well done Adam!

And Bender...Jeees..Grow up! You can always try out as a paper-boy! You`ll have one of `em in no-time! :)

Bender, first of all, I'm sorry to see this kind of attitude. Definitely not good sportmanship.

Second of all, the script is designed so that you can't vote on the same poll more than once every 500 votes, and given that it has less than 500 votes, he could personally vote only once.

If he self-promoted and asked friends to vote for him, you can see that kind of thing in every contest where the public votes, including presidential elections. It's the simple 'vote for me' routine.

Whichever the case, the rules were the same for every contestant.
