Final Burn 0.069! - January 10,2001 by JoseQ
A new version of Final Burn has been released by Dave! You can download it from the Emulator Download Page right now! This new version adds a region switch to the INI file to know which CPS-2 "Street Fighter" to play. The row scroll shown on the website yesterday is still not included in the release, but the SFZ decode files distributed by CPS-2 Shock yesterday are now in use. Enjoy!

team CPs2Shock and Dave have given everyone in the scene an incredible new years present, and acheived something everyone in the scene wished for, but many did not believe would happen so soon if at all...

i too have sfzero on saturn and am proud of it and proud and gratefull not only of cps2 shock and Daves acheivement, but of all the work done by all the regualars in the emu scene and find their enthusiasm a constant inspiration to continue our project which you will never appreciate..

i notice you do not include an email address...

i have never heard of you, so die you stupid ingrate...you dont deserve to benefit from such a great scene!

Just because they don't release any info on decrytion doesn't mean people can't figure out how they did it. If you have a data file that's been encrypted and an unencrypted version of the same data, you can extrapolate the encryption algorythm. this is how DVD encryption was broken, somone made a mistake and released a movie unencrypted, then realized their mistake and published all subsequant poduction runs with the encryption. BIG MISTAKE! Hackers now had an unencrypted didk, and the exact same data with the encryption in place. (they *should* have re-encoded the MPEG-2 from the original source footage so they wouldn't have the exact same data in the encrypted data).

Anyway, the same holds true for the CPS-2 roms, a good encryption hacker will be able to figure it out even if they don't provide the information just from the encrypted and decrypted files.

I have some strange bug in 0.069.
I'm tried to play it with newer romsets,
but it tells me that decrypting roms doesn't have correct CRC.When i check
this in test mode,it seems to be ok.
The same story with old romsets.
It means that in test mode it always says the roms ok,no matter which roms i trying run.-->test mode obviosly HACKED!!

I'm frankly suprised at the fact Raz and Dave are still planning on CPS2 emulation and release of any roms at all, considering the sheer volume of people making demands. Makes me wonder if I'm one of the few sane ones left at times. c.c;

Hey, Dave, Raz.. if you read this.. thanks, guys. I own the Saturn version of SFA, but it's really nice to see the AC one running on my monitor. Some quality to it I just can't explain. Here're my hopes to see SSF2T in the near future, but I'll wait as long as necessary and keep playing my SF Collection CD in the meantime. Again, thanks for the memories!

Raz is the only man who can make playable dumps from a cps 2 games - so HEīs the MAN and HIS word ruled. IS THAT SO HARD TO REALIZE? He had the intellectual power to do so and YOU NOT - you are just a stupid person - unfortunately one of zillion sh*t posters, rom beggars and lamers whoīll never understand the simplest rules of live and never learn to treat other ppl with respect and gratitude for their work. Raz do that cps2 encryption thing not only for personal fame but for retrogamers all over the world - for you and me. so why canīt morons like you just say 'thank your raz and dave for thist great gift of cps2 emulation' instead of post the same sh*t over and over again...
Donīt f*ck the rules - f*ck YOU!

One very pathetic aspect of modern society is that most people seems to think that life is all about "rights". I'd like to partially quote some American democrat on the issue: "Ask not what the Emulation community can do for you, but what you can do for the emulation community!"

Raz has the knowledge needed to dump unencrypted CPS-2 roms. Knowledge is power, and with power comes responsibility... Raz is just being responsible about his own actions.

Respect!

Since no one is listening, Raz is a hoarder and a liar. These are my true feelings. he should release some roms now, what is the purpose of chronology? well? why do they have to be released in order?well? why?huh? There are no reasons! that is the most stupid thing I've evr heard. If you have a game release it. This isn't christmas. there is no special time to release it.

Raz has decided to release only the oldest games first, so as to not hurt Capcom, as they are still using the CPS2 for new games. He said that he will go out of order to release a game that is donated if the game is not too much newer than the games already dumped.

It is CPS2Shock's decision to release only the older games, and I personally think it is a good one - it shows that they have respect for the company that they have dumped the games from - and it also provides a bit of grounding if legal battles may ensue.

Raz has proven himself that he is not a hoarder and a liar by dumping Street Fighter Zero, which was an amazing feat that I didn't think would happen for at least a few more years.

Street Fighter Alpha is a great game - which, for a brief moment, even brought back a bit of the charm of the early days of emulation - the amazement of playing a game in an emulator for the first time. I even got a little dewey-eyed when the Recycle It, Don't Trash It screen came up. :)

So, Be pleased with what you have now, and don't bother Raz with your crazy ROM requests. Trust me, as an emulator author, I know first hand how annoying those kind of posts can be.
