AGES Site Updated... - January 15,2001 by JoseQ
The Ages website was updated today by Quinntesson with news about the emulator's progress. He's starting to work on FM Emulation, which he is writing from scratch without referring to other's code, so keeping in mind that fact, you shouldn't be surprised if it takes a while for the emulator to get good sound qualities. For those wondering, 32X support has not been discontinued, it is rather on the slow track, and will be worked on soon enough. Also in the update, a short message to those who have shown to be unkind when talking about AGES. Just remember that this product is free, and nobody is forcing you to use it. If you don't like it, that's OK, there's no need to bash it. Most of us use different emulators for different games, so you can do the same. Check out the AGES site for the full update.

I was too young to have access to a Sega CD during its prime, though I really wanted to play Sonic CD, the Lunar series and Shining Force CD, and now I can't find the damn things anywhere. So I emulate.

Right on Snake! I bought my sega cd back in the day and I loved it. People used to love to bash the thing but i had so much fun on it and some of my favorite games ever were on it. I even kept my favorite sega cd's just to listen to the music. Im so glad I did because now I can play them again. I for one am thrilled with ages and I cant wait untill it gets up to par with some of my favorite emu's. It sure must be a bitch to program an emu for it because no one until now has even come close. Thanks Ages people!

I too would love to be able to play my Mega-CD games on my PC and am looking forward to the next release with scaling sprite support immensely.

I think it's quite pathetic how all these emulator-babies bash Ages. They just want to play Sega CD games for free. They never cared about the games or the system before, but now that they have a chance to get all the games and play them for free, they care, and unless they can play them perfectly, they will be babies. I am a Sega CD die-hard, and I think Quinn is doing one hell of a job. The first one to sucessfully emulate Sega CD. What kind of feat it that? No one else has done it. Give credit where credit is certainly due.
