Calice 0.0.7 - February 05,2001 by JoseQ
I think it's about time I started posting about Calice. You can download version 0.0.7 from the Emulator Download Page. This CPS1 emulator has recently appeared from out of nowhere and has been undergoing regular updates ever since. This version offers speed increases, brightness support, fixes for some sprite bugs. All in all, this emulator supports 23 games already including: "U.N. Squadron", "Final Fight" and "1941" among many others. As you probably know, I don't host ROMs for the Capcom CPS1 system so you're going to have to go elsewhere to download these games. Enjoy!

...but you are a lazy scumbag. Honestly, how difficult is it to find cps1 roms?
Did you even TRY?

Well, don't want to start a debate or anything, but :
- It's good to have many Nes, SNes, Genesis... emus, because some run games others can't
- But Callus runs ALL CPS1 games...

I ain't tried this emu so far but you can bet on the fact that CPS1 hardware is quite similar to CPS2 (maybe... ;)) and callus developing is over. This could lead us to another CPS2 emu alltogether with the superb FinalBurn... Also, Calice is the result of a talented person and WE WANT to respect his work...consider the fact that this emu fixes some bugs found in callus (and probably in mame CPS1 driver too) and it's still in its early stages and you get the result. I'll probably download this emu this evening (when i'll be back at home) to check out its features but everyone seems to think that this is a very good attempt in emulating CPS1 hardware... That's why i want to say that i sincerly hope to see another release as soon as possible.

Do you remember Nemu64 ? This N64 emu ran demo only, who wanted to download it ? UltraHLE was the best. Right now Nemu64 is the best N64 emu

One thing I like about having more emu's is that when I download an author's work as it is being developed it is like keeping up with part of a really exciting and innovative scene. For instance, Calice may some day be the emu that is supporting the newest, hottest games (cps2 or whatever), and we now have the chance to keep up with it as it develops! And if it only ever supports capcom 1 games, it still represents an awsesome accomplishment by the author, and contribution to the emu scene which we all love!!! WOW! When can I get the next release!!! :)
