Sega Arcade Project? - February 08,2001 by JoseQ
It seems Lopantu is temporarily abandoning the Laser emulator development, in favor of an innovative emulator, labeled Sega Arcade Project. This new software aims to emulate Sega's discrete circuitry games from the 1970s. A list of titles is available on the S.A.P. page linked above. I really didn't know there were so many of them, even a screenshot is included so that you get an idea of what those games were like. It sure seems to be a missing piece in the Arcade emulating puzzle, so it's nice to see someone taking their time to complete it. Check it out!

Wow. Will they also be working on Monaco GP? Finally an attempt to preserve these games before they're gone forever. I would like to learn C so I could maybe write my own drivers one day, but I don't know what is the best book. Any suggestions?

I will look into adding Sega Monoco GP to it - as it is the one game that seems to have the most information readily available - and a nice Sega Saturn port to look against as well.

I don't have a clue as to the best book to learn C from - but there are a number of nice webpages that dive into this subject. I will use DJGPP and Allegro for the Sega Arcade Project, so you might want to look for sites that include information on that.
