Final Burn 0.100! - February 16,2001 by JoseQ
Final Burn is in the update track once again with three new releases! You can download version 0.100 from the Emulator Download Page. CPS2 emulation is back! This time, the new features include support for: "Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers" and "Marvel Super Heroes". Version 0.100 corrects the "Marvel Super Heroes" filenames and CRCs. It will still be a bit before I get to ROM posting, but they'll be here, all of them! Just hang on tight. If you don't have that much patience, I'm sure you can find the ROMs elsewhere on the net in the meantime if you look hard enough.

The lesson to be learned here is to show your appreciation for emulators while they're still around, or at least don't go bothering the author about petty things. Emulation is a difficult task, and they don't have to do it for you. And if you don't want to have to play everything on the expanding, loveless blob of unoptimization known as MAME, then show a little respect for the guys who bring us incredible emulators like Final Burn.

F*** what your talking about I happen to love very dearly the lifeless blob of unoptimization you call Mame.
If Dave hadn't put CPS2 back in Final Burn what would you use? Huh I can't hear you.
Mame does for me just fine on my PIII 600. If you are so smart asshole make an emulator to run UMK3 on a 400mhz machine

They're not bugs. It's a graphics mode he hasn't implimented yet. Like the tilt in Galaxy Force, or the Road in After Burner/Thunderblade. He knows about the problem, he knows how to fix it, but if those other two machines are any indication, it could be a while before it's fixed.

Nice going. I would love to see the look of the scumbags that made fun of Final Burn before. I would like to see Slammasters 2 supported soon. I have still yet to play a CPS2 game, and I'm saving that experience for Slammasters 2. Would like to see more support for the Sega games also (like Thunderblade and mouse support for Rail Chase). What are the chances that after CPS2 emulation is done that Final Burn will start emulating System 18 games? They need to be decrypted first, but how is this done? I heard about comparing bootlegs with the protected versions, but wouldn't this have solved the problem by now since I think there are System 18 games with bootleg's out already?

There are several System 18 games out there with bootlegs, or decrypted versions, and all of them are emulated in the System 16 emulator. Dave said he won't be doing any decryption, so pick up a copy of S16, and be happy. Let Dave stick to emulating previously unemulated hardware.

Thanks Dave for bringing back CPS2 *sniff* I for one am a big Capcom fan and am sure you are too. I just can't say enough with words. But to let you know not all people are evil and next time you have any problems, just send them me way. You do what you have to do and take time.

Final Burn is FANTASTIC. This is a very good emulator where you can playing CPS2 games and some nice classics, but please guys don't push Dave. It's his work so he deserve some respect.
I only want to say people, be patient and give this guy the time. Don't be mad if he doesn't release a new version in a view days. He just a human like you and me, he have just a live like you and me, so you people know that there another things to on this world.
But and it's not the last time I going to say it: FINAL BURN IS REALLY GREAT!!!

And Mame is on the right track too. I think I like to play Street Fighter: The Movie on the new version, but never forget this is great work from people.

I think emulation is about the love of the game. Dave has done a good job on his final burn because he is probably very passionate about it. Thank you dave for dedicating yourself to the cause. Lets try to respect each other and avoid ignorant comments with the word "Lamer" in them. Just have lots of Fun.

Once again, My sincerest thanks to you Dave.

What happened to original post ideas? I mean its great that people like Dave but, you rok!!!!!!! and You rule Dave!!!!! aren't original. Dave should post the e-mail address's of the lamers his web page and their ip address's. We could mail bomb them, hack them, fill 'em up with virus's that attack only the lamers. By the way, Great Emu Dave. When I heard that you had After Burner support when Final Burn was first released I had to go and download it. I love it. Too bad it's when something big happens the lamers and people who do nothing to contribute to the emulation scence come out of their holes.

The emulation scene needs stability - Daves lesson is a simple one and I hope it all works out

Final burn like a lot of emulators are great programs and written for love. And as an end user I thank him for his efforts and time.

Thankyou Dave and welcome back

Lets all now just enjoy the moment and above all have fun

I agree with "The product" (first post here) about how this came out - it should be no real surprise to anyone that Dave decided to take some time off for himself, and to give the people who were bugging him non-stop a lesson. Hope everyone's learned some patience.

You didn't see it coming did ya? I think it's amazing that everyone bought this, and noone saw Dave giving the CPS2 lamers a lesson. It's a classic, and I can only say you're all a bunch of loosers. If you want to complain, go complain about yourself. Dave isn't actually working for YOU personally. I just think this episode has been so funny. I will call this episode in emulating chaptor "smoking out the real lamers" and get back to my Amigamusic. So long, and remember: In the end we all win: We die! So relax!!!
