Final Burn 0.101! - February 17,2001 by JoseQ
I'd say Dave is back to his old self with yet another release of Final Burn, this time with support for "Alien vs. Predator". You can download this new version from the Emulator Download Page. The ROM naming structure has also been changed to match MAME's and there's some new options to block sound and music in most games. Now that I finally got a good night sleep, I have some time to start posting those newly supported games, so watch out for them.

One Article Up: Modeler 0.1.1a!
One Article Down: Pocket Engine Released!

Tell me where to find Golden Axe 2 (non corrupted) for Modeler and I'll reconsider your offer.

Yes, whining sucks, but so does too much brown-noser ass kissing...

I mean kudos to Dave for making a great emulator that covered a lot of games not found other places (and before other emu's got to many of them), but the real praise for CPS2 goes to CPS2Shock, without them none of this would have been possible.

I'll enjoy the games, and good job all you folks. Give credit where credit is due. But no need to kiss ass...

I hear what you're saying. Final Burn is an excellent emu, both fas and curate, but I don't think it's quite the acheivment that acheiving CPS2 decryption was.

I have tried 101 on my machine (a P166 with WinNT 4 and DirectX5).
The emulator seems to run fine at full speed, but the keyboard input doesn't seem to work. I can alter the various settings, inclduing ESC to hide the menu bar click on the full screen button, but I'm unable to "Insert coin" with the 5 key or start with the 1 key, etc.

I checked and realized I was wrong - I was only running DirectX v.3
I installed DirectX v.5 and now FINAL BURN works great!

If anyone else needs to know, here's a web-site that offers instructions on installing DirectX 5 for Windows NT 4.

Go to input, and hit "Restore defaults"
Failing that delete your cfg menu

Rather than harping on about all the stuff that Dave did to teach the lamers a lesson we should appriciate what we have got due to the hardwork and dedication of dave and the cps2shock team, rememeber these things are done for fun and not the kind of hassle that message board posters like to start. rememeber the days when we didn't have these things were we moaning about cps2 then? No. Enjoy what we have don't moan about what we dont....

Just my 2 cents...
