Impact News... - March 20,2001 by JoseQ
The Impact / Specs section was updated today with a very interesting work-in-progess list. The list aims to detail every game that are based on the PSX based arcade boards that Impact emulates. Please note that this is not a list of games that Impact emulates, although they're good candidates for emulation in the future. Some interesting games include: "Soul Calibur", "Dead or Alive ++", and "Tekken Tag Tournament". Although these are by far NOT classic games, it would be impressive to say the least to see them emulated, although hopefully, it will be a few years before we start seeing those on our PCs. I'm happy playing "Soul Calibur" and "Dead or Alive" on my Dreamcast in the meantime. You should consider doing the same if you want to play those games; they're awesome conversions.

Id always thought that the dc port of soul calibur was so accurate to the original because it was converted from NAOMI hardware! Was i wrong or is the impact site wrong?

The impact teem should divert their focus from adding new games, especially the afore mentioned ones, (their too new any way). To fixing existing problems especially the lack of two player joystick support and those goddam glitchy sound FX in RIVAL SCHOOLS!

2 player joystick support works fine. I have tournaments of Rival Schools from time to time.

I agree that their Q-Sound emulation could be better though.

Dead or Alive++ isn't that new. I thing around 96 or 97. Don't confuse this for rhe Naomi based DoA2.

Buy Dreamcast, buy Dreamcast... JoseQ, don't you think that is too much? I mean Sega is not your sponsor. By the way, I don't have anything against DC but this things just annoys me...

If sega isnt his sponser then perhaps you should appreciate an unbiased opinion! Im sure there are much more important things in life which are worthy of your annoyance.

If you don't want to play those games, don't buy a Dreamcast.

Would it be nicer if I said, it would sure be neat0 to play those games today on a free emulator and the hell with Capc0m and the softwarez companies that made the games in the first place? I don't think so.

I'm sorry, but I do think the Dreamcast is a great console, and one that has great games. That is my opinion and I'm entitled to it. My site isn't called JoseQ's EmuViews for nothing you know?

I love this games, but I'm too old to buy console now. I didn't said that I want to play them now on some kind of emulator (I mean I want, but not for now, Daytona USA would be enough). By the way I did not say that I don't like DC, I just think you talk too much about it!

Is there an age limit for buying a console?

If so what is it?

He said "if you want to play these games", not "buy that goddamn DC come what may". Unless there are better ports to other systems, I don't see whats wrong with his advice.
