If you people don't stop complaining you are going to end up losing Nebula too. This is still a brand new emulator, just give it some time. Rome wasn't build in a day. you know.

From: 146.229.11.145
Why do some many people feel that they have to put Nebula down? Yes at **THIS** point FinalBurn is the better emulator, HOWEVER Nebula is coming along REALLY well and you should give the author some respect. I'm sure that in the coming months we will allow start to use and love Nebula, the only thing holding it back is speed which this release made less of an issue. So if everybody will please shut the hell up, and not do to this emulator what you did to final burn I'm sure you'll grow to love it. Nebula will be the NeoRageX of CPS2.

with that actually,if i see an emu with emulated same games at full speed, and see another emu emulated the same game slooow than hell, that's a thing that not work
or the develop of the emu want to joke us or it is an idiot who don't understand what is actually the spec on a emu of millenium ,watch final burn and understand vs Nebula,10- -0 and nebula loose,if you complain this or revert the emu position finalburn 9 and nebula 10 or please leave the emu develop scene, because you don't have respect for oldest arcade player ,releasing that emu before watching if there are some emu releasing by another developers and run well
think well and made good thing in future not sh!t emu like Nebula

I just finished playing D&D:SOM on nebula (nearly flawlessly on my PIII 550) and have something to say: !@#$ all you immature, whining, bitching, spoiled, EMU-KILLERS! Surely you must be unemployed children to even dare complain about these author's work. I say this because if you had spent the $1000's as I have in nearly 20 yrs of arcade gaming, you would appreciate the fact that someone is allowing you to play these games for FREE. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to play. Also, if you had a job, you would realize the value of free time, which these people give to us as opposed to their friends/family. In closing, THANK YOU to all emu authors, past, present, and future.

I LOVED final burn. Capcom makes some of the very best games (I guess you'll flame me for this, too) and watched excitedly for each new release of FB. I also watched as ungrateful, impatient little bastards like you sent Dave over the edge with your crying and nitpicking until he finally called it quits. OK for those of you whiners who complain about how slow an emulator runs, how it sucks big time, how it should be banished from the face of the earth, how the authors are stupid for writing slow emulators, all I have to say is, look in the mirror before you say anything else. If you can program an emulator that runs 1000 times better than the one you complain about, by all means go ahead, write one, and whine all you want. If you don't even know how to program, do us a favour and go shoot yourself in the head..... you're wasting precious space and air in this world.

No disrespect to the author of Nebula, which is a great example of a work that will improve in time beyond its already good status, but he REALLY needs to work on that videocode a bit more.

If I understand correctly by a post Tuxedomask made over at VGN, this thing runs slow as all hell on any Voodoo card due to some specific programming tricks. Can anyone bear this up with more evidence? This 466 of mine will play just about anything on final burn just fine, but I'm getting on average 15fps on Nebula. There shouldn't be that kind of a disparancy!

Before anyone tells me I should just upgrade, please try to remember that not everyone can afford it. Even $100 may be too much for someone with a lot of bills. Killing an emulator like final burn then saying "Oh well, another will take its place" is rather cruel to those who can't afford that upgrade, don't you think? Please, show some consideration for the low-end guys who have enough trouble with MAME as it is.

:I totally agree. Even if FINAL BURN seems to have more pixelised graphics, it really works MUCH FASTER and with much much MORE FLUID ANIMATIONS than nebula.
Seems like nebula does not have the same FRAME RATE as final burn... and with that bad controls settings, it's all the more frustrating.
NEBULA, even if it can run recent released roms, is much LESS SLOW and FLUID than final burn.
I have an athton 800mhz, 128 mo ram and geforce video card... So i imagine what performences other slower systems can meet!!!
Final Burn was so great that it killed itself... It's so sad...
Even if i don't pray Dave's temple, i hope Final burn will come back soon!

Dave complained receiving tons of mails from people who wanted to see ameliorations in Final Burn. I think it's better using this kind of forum.
I just criticise the fact that animation (the way the characters jump, run and do their stuff) is not as fluid in nbula than in FB. That's the point. And that's why i say FB is faster than Nebula and that's why i speak about frame rate (maybe it's not the god term but that's the idea).
And one more time: i don't attack Nebula and don't want to see another emu die.

Well it seems that the complaints have switched from Dave not releasing a new FB twice a day to a new emulator not being perfect and slow.

1. I'm glad dave left, if only because he was getting treated like crap for programming something for free, in his spare time for a mostly grateful public. However, the disatisfied are often louder than the patient and the appreciative.

2. Now a new emulator comes along to fill in the gap and with it another emu author gives of him/herself and recieves not praise for their generosity, but pathetic insults and non-constructive critisism.

Point - The people that are complaining about nebula not being perfect, whoops excuse me, whining & bitching about nebula not being perfect are the very same type of people that hurled the same ill-thoughtout comments toward dave, and we all know what happened with him. Most if not all emu authors are not egomaniacs desperate for attention, no most emu authors are kind people, with a love for programming and classic games that do their best to share them with the rest of the community. This used to be rewarded with praise for what works, and constructive critisism about what doesn't.

However now all an emu author has to look forward to is a bunch of crybabies complaining about everything that isn't perfect, e-mailing questions to the author that are clearly answered in either the readme and/or the emu author's FAQ page.

All this hostility from ungrateful brats who can't program their VCR's much less anything resembling an emulator.

---southpaw ( still ranting... look for this on my page sometime soon, P.S. hello to Jose Q )

Sh!t that a beas of a comp.. see the diffrenc betwen FB and Nebua is that FB runs x-men vs. street fighter at full spead on my p2 300 with 128 ram while nebua gives me about 10 to 15 frames. Most of us don't have 800 mhz so that's why we all whant dave to come back :-{

I have a 700 mhz Duron, 192 meg RAM, TNT2 and even with no image enhancement and 22 khz audio the games run very very very very very slow. However, the 2xSaI looks great with the Street Fighter Alpha games! (Oh, and I get some weird control problems too...)

But I like 2xSaI!! (Or did I already mention that??)
