Calice does CPS2! - April 19,2001 by JoseQ
Wondering where Calice had gone to after a couple of closely followed releases? Well, it went to the CPS2 camp to add CPS2 emulation! The new version of Calice is available for download from the Emulator Download Page. Other than adding support for 13 CPS2 games, it also adds drivers for 9 CPS1 games as well! There's also improvements, fixes and additions to the functionality of the emulator as well. DOS fans of this emulator may not be happy to know that the DOS version has now been discontinued. Anyway, on with the Windows show. Enjoy! Thanks to -^Cro§Bow^- for the news!

And besides, if someone wants to start an new emulator, best of luck to them!

I see some people below just explode whenever somebody mentions "CPS2" on this site. A shame...

I haven't tried the latest Calice, but it looks to be coming along fine.

Perhaps this'll help emu authors not feel compelled to release updates every time a new CPS2 decrypt table is released?

Naw, oh well one can hope... :)

Anyways, it's nice to see a new emu since Final Burn was ended.

The name of the rom folder is controlled in the .ini the default is cpsroms right in at the c:/ of whatever your drive is called.

This guy has poor english, and to make up for it, he accuses "english people" of being homosexuals.

Okay...

Well good thing I'm an American, and not English, or else I'd be "gay" according to this person.

Thanks for sharing! ; p

As to his comments about emulators/emu authors, I have no idea what he is trying to say, but it doesn't sound too positive!

Do, you are hilarious.. or sad, or both!

Learn to write the language first off, and keep your "gay" comments to yourself, they don't help anyone. Next, how about giving constructive criticism, or is that too hard? Saying something "sucks dick" really doesn't do anything to improve on it, does it? And it also doesn't explain WHY you have such a problem with it either.

So why not just shove off if you can't contribute anything? Or just keep on amusing us, either way. ; )

But tell me anybody who knows: when will be a well working Sega32 emulator for the great games like Dragonballz or Golden Axe 2 and others for this arcade system? It never happend to me to see it in arcades, and Emulation is the solution there! You see; is now already four (4) emus for CPS2(Mame or CPS2Mame, FinalBurn, Nebula and now Calice); working perfect or almost perfect; but none for Sega 32! I think is time this to be corrected and make it soon man!!!

There is a working System32 emu. It's called modeler. It's not very complete because of the lack of documentation for the cpu (NEC v60) but it is making nice progress. It runs golden axe 2 very well, but not DBZ (dunno why you want to play that crap anyway). Hopefully soon, it will properly run Rad Mobile and Out Runners.

check it out. IT's hosted on impact's page.

Yes, yes, again: I know about Modeler but the interesting on your post is that is «not very complete because of the lack of documentation for the cpu (NEC v60)». Maybe here is the problem, the same problem like the Atari Jaguar, you know, the lack of documentation for the cpu. But let's hope it will solved very soon(for both systems, Sega System32 and Atari Jaguar).
Nice talking to you, thanks.

Look, friend, thanks for your try to help, but I know already about Modeler and sorry for forgeting to mention it but Modeler has to do more. But I respect it much. Ahhh and tell NMC that we are here to tell free our opinions and this is not making us Lamers. Lamer is the kind like him when he call names and a Lamer is the one asking for roms or telling bad things to Emu programmers whithout respect for their work.

Yes, I know that,I have visited the above site for months and many times before, but as you say, is on progress and my point here is this: when will be a WELL working Sega32 emulator when you see four(4) for CPS2! OK I hope it for Modeler soon.

This is a bit of a surprise. I expected they'd eventually want to do this, but I wasn't expecting it so soon. Guess I'll have to grab a copy and see how it runs!
