ZSNES 1.25! - May 16,2001 by JoseQ
The ZSNES emulator has been updated to version 1.25 for three different platforms! Windows, DOS and Linux ports were posted at the website today. You can download any of these from the website or the Emulator Download Page. The list of changes going into this release is incredibly long but some of the highlights include: Porting to DirectX 8.0 which actually fixed some problems and improved performance (DX8 is now a requirement), improved DirectInput compatibility, optimized DSP1 code, added PNG snapshot support, and more. Each of the ports have it's few exclusive improvements, so be sure to check the documentation to see what's new on your favorite platform. Enjoy! Thanks once again to RetroLover for the news!

I looked at the screenshots. The graphics look *amazing* - putting the SNES hardware to great use. =) It's really too bad I can't read a single bit of Japanese.

ZSNES is my favorite SNES emulator, even though Wheel of Fortune Deluxe crashes it! :)

Ever since Day 1 with ZSNES, I've always been impressed with how much more stable, speedy and accurate this emulator is over Snes9X and other SNES emus that've appeared over time. I like its interface, and everything plays really smoothly on my system just like the actual machine. (SuperFX chip clock is off slightly, as evidenced by various graphics in StarFox, but that's minor. :)

Time for a quick poll: Any particular game you like the best on the SNES? My favorites are StarFox, Super Metroid and Kirby 3 (Kirby's Dreamland).

I just love Super Punchout on the SNES. And the street fighter 2 conversions were also very good. Arcade perfect! Not even to mention the Mega Man X series, wich works very well on Zsnes.

I've been with ZSNES since day one. I tried Snes9x but it just wasn't the same. Can't wait to get the new version, gonna download it now! Big thanks to the ZSNES team!
