Bleem! bits! - June 03,2001 by JoseQ
Want to take a look at how "Metal Gear Solid" could look on your TV (via your Dreamcast)? Visit PSXEmu where you can see four different shots, shown in both it's Playstation and Dreamcast incarnation, so that you can see the difference, and maybe drool a little bit (I know I did!). You can also sign a new petition that's going to be sent to Sony and the retailers and even Electronic's Boutique, so that they know we support them! They certainly will keep getting me in their store getting Bleem! for DC. Check out the shots, you'll want to get your hands on it too!

For those of you disregarding all these comments and saying "But.. This will be good for emulation if Bleem wins!" No no no.. Bleem won their court cases, emulation is safe(haha). Now Bleem has to deal with corruption in the Merchandising World. This is not about emulation, its about $$money$$ now. Emulation fans got their asses reamed by Bleem! inc. Don't help them sort out their money problems please.

I don't know too much about the emulation scene but I have been playing games all my life. Thanks for warning me about Bleem! and their dodgy dealings! I was gonna get the Dreamcast one but I don't think I will now!

I think that we are all upset and we all feel that we have been ripped off regarding this whole Bleem story, but if you all think a bit about this, signing that petition will mean much more then money in the authors pockets, it will also be great for emulation in the general. The petition is a way of showing that we, as the emulation community, are taking this whole ordeal seriously and it will be a good way to set an example. Anybody who feel serious about emulation should sign that petition, whether you like the Bleem authors or not. I am proud to say they have my support. And who knows, maybe if we all show them we care they might just do something about that pc version everybody is moaning about :0)

Begs the question though... where does that leave FREE emu's.
Lots of guys make emulators for free and continually update them, these guys charged you then kicked you up the ass.
I admit i was a mug when i bought their product with the assurance that they would continue to support their product, why should i or many others support them now, they didnt support me.
Emulators should stay free because all these guys are doing is making money off other peoples work, (Sony and the makers of the games they emulate), they are in it for the quick buck, once they have your money wave bye bye to support.

That's a pipe dream. I bought the orginal Bleem PC to 'support emulation' and regretted my decision. Bleem is not going to win against sony, this is a war of attrition and bleem doesnít have the pockets. Weither bleem is right or not is irrelevant.

Saying that Ďit for the good of emulationí is pure BS. Itís about a company who canít get itís product on the shelves and is trying to get the hardcore emulation fans which they stabbed in the back to help them out. There is no noble cause or trying to relive memories of better games. Itís about one shady company with a piss poor product and dubious business practices trying to make a profit.

I agree with you. The point is that emulation is piracy. Despite all the rhetoric and BS, thatís what it boils down too. Sure there have been attempts to try and break away from this, VGS for example. All have failed.
But emulation for the most part has been left alone because it works with old software which is not making any more money. Itís not worth it for the companies to sue when the legal costs will be more than the possible profit of whatís being pirated. Itís a case of the mouse (emulation) against the elephant (game companies). The elephant wonít bother looking for mice to step on, but if one stupid mouse starts trying to draw too much attention to itself the elephant will step on it.

Bleemís the stupid mouse in this case, now do you want to stand beside them when the elephant comes by?

>Well I got to say I'm tired of here people piss and moan about getting ripped off.Bleem is a Emulator that's it,not a Playstation nor will it ever be.It's one of thee only I can get to run without having to screw around with plug-ins that don't seem to work half the time.

I agree PC Bleem needs a upgrade real bad,but you can't expect alot if you have a piece of crap E-machine or of the sort.I have a K71200/w a gefore3 and the games that I can get to run crank.

I seem to be getting lots of negative responses on my post earlier. But lots of the things you guys say actually makes a lot of sense. (I say lots to much) Seriously now, maybe I made a mistake giving them my support, maybe not. Time will indeed tell what will happen in the Bleem vs. Sony case, although I don't think any outcome will make a big difference (not to pissed off Bleem PC users anyway) seeing as Bleem has already just about everybody in the emulation scene going against them. Lets just say they dug their own grave.

This whole thing is funny. For the most point Randy is looked at in the same light as Sam Jain of eFront fame. Heís alienated his entire internet fan base with Bleem PC, yet now heís calling these same people to help him swindle more money from unsuspecting people. I mean first he milks all these emulator sites to get free advertising, then he posts doctored photos to show how Ďgreatí his stuff is. Donít tell me that those psx screenshots of MGS are legit, maybe they were taken with bleem PC.
The unfortunate thing about it is that itís killed my respect for some of those sites, especially ones that actually have bleem employees posting news on their main page.

It makes me sick to know that if there were a petition to sign to keep bleem off the shelves I would happily sign it. Make no mistake, they lied to all of us about bleem pc, and we were stabbed in the back. When your tech support is the ďMagic 5-ballĒ you know youíve been screwed. I canít help but feel bitter when I think about these guys. Randy how does it feel to know that more people hate you then Tim Eckel? At this point Iím not even sure if a major update to bleem pc would be enough to change my opinion.

September 1998 - Yesterday Barney told me about this bleem thing and all I gotta say is from the sound of it , it rocks. Like they say its gonna keep on being updated and being improved, I'm gonna buy it on principle of how hard these young fella's work.

June Today - f@#@ bleem, I wasted my hard earned money on a burnt out product. Wilma divorced me after finding out I supported them and I now have to sell my only child Pebbles to pay for fuel in my car. Man I think this all happened due to Bleem, it jinxed me :(

yeah sure ill sign their petition, when hell freezes over. these guys have made a policy of offering horrible customer service and piss poor products. what nerve they have, asking the very people they stabbed in the back to stand up and support them. its time for bleem inc. to go where bleem pc went.

After paying for bleem and never receiving it, Then E-mailing them to ask for my copy (I even attached a copy of the credit report that they charged me) they never replied to any of the 13 e-mails over a 4 month period. I then Purchased a copy at a local Store, and couldn't even get it to run properly with any game. They Then Stop updates after only a few and brake what they said on the box and on there website at the time i bought it... I'm sorry but I hope they fail against Sony this time around. I can't believe they even have the Nerve to ask for help from anyone after what they did to there customers. Not to mention the current attitude they invoked in the emulation community about Retail emulators. The sad part is that there are emulators out there worth registering but now all Bleem did was turn everyone against the idea and on top of that screw everyone in the process. The facts are strong against them, Just look at there pathetic attempt for help.. Only 148 Total Signatures. Would they have had so little when they were honorable back when they first taken everyoneís money? Very doubtful but now they can see that what Goes around, Always Comes Around!
