What do you want on FPSE? - June 08,2001 by JoseQ
The authors of the Playstation emulator FPSE want to give you a chance to tell them what you would like to see on the next version. If you've used FPSE 0.09 and would like to see some added features or have any comments at all, feel free to visit their Forum and tell them what you want to see on version 0.10. Just post your wish list. In other news, they have also added even more language packs, so be sure to check out the 'Language Packs' section on their website if FPSE doesn't 'speak' your language.

Plug-in Emu's suck mine-butten-holen! cause (A) You have to configure every little thing! (B) the end result is NOT worth it yet! (C) I'll Settle for VGS' mushy-graphics, because VGS is stable.

Although I don't necessarily agree with the way you put it, I definitely agree that FPSE is WAY too hard to use. I think they need to target dumb users a little more. I'm a software engineer and the first time I downloaded FPSE, it took me almost an hour of fiddling with plug-in options just to get it to work halfway decent. I can't imagine how relatively inexperienced computer users manage to get through it without just giving up.

I love what FPSE is doing and it's an amazing project, but they need to hide all of those plug-in options for beginning users a little more, and allow the configuration engine to examine the end-user's computer to determine some sort of default config that will at least run PS games, even if minimally, without the user having to walk through all of the plug-in options themselves.

Just MHO.

Kyle
