The Rumor Mill! - June 14,2001 by JoseQ
Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, it's time once again for a Rumor Mill to be posted on Wednesday night, as scheduled. This time I have a few goodies that might catch your eye. Looking at the bag I see stuff regarding stuff happing at Bart's (Genital) camp, a little bit about the next GENS, some Raine32 bits, newly intercepted Mimic screenshots, and yet another new emulator for the DECO CPU-16. Not a whole lot I know, but hey, you just got a Rumor Mill a few days ago. Next week should be better, but let's dig into what we do have, shall we?
On Bart's side, I've found that he's been making progress connecting his PC to his Saturn just minutes after his previous request for help. While there hasn't been much done with that, he has been able to upload some programs onto the 68K's RAM and get them to execute. It should be starting to be a lot more fun soon.
While there was a new GENS release today, I already got the scoop for the next version, which will be labeled 1.00. Although this might sound a bit obvious, Stef has one thing on his agenda, and that is to improve compatibility. While GENS already boasts great compatibility, I guess Stef wants this to be perfect so expect that to be improved by the time version 1.00 hits.
There's been rumors flying around about a new Raine32 coming out fairly soon, and there's been some actual builds floating around that I have been able to get my hands on. However, these work a bit poorly on Windows 2000 due to Allegro. Luckily, Atani will be releasing a build that should work around this problem since he performs a custom build of Allegro. Hopefully it will released to the public fairly soon.
As mentioned above, I manage to get my hands on some Mimic screenshots for you to enjoy. They show the new 6502 core in action. You can see "Arkanoid" (NES) running as well as "Pac-Man", and also the arcade version of "Matmania". Here are the shots:

And probably saving the best for last, as many people have wanted to see this for a long time. A new DECO CPU-16 emulator is almost complete! This system runs some rare games that many people wanted to see for quite a while. Not only do I have the rumors, but I have the pics to prove it! Check them out:

I hope you enjoyed those, and that's it for this edition of The Rumor Mill. Now I should be going to bed. Until next week, Qmeister signs off, and thanks for reading!

From: vwalltdsnsu1.tds.de
- as we alllll allready know Win2K suxx.

Hope that a new Raine is released very soon.

BUT i have a Win2K System with 815i Grafikcard and intelcpu in my Company where the Mame and Raine32, Raine/Dos runs perfectly.

At home i have a GeForce1 DDR, (Detonator 3 6.x), Athloncpu 1GHz
(yes i have 400W Ac/Dc) and it breaks down every view second. Win2k Sp2 installed

DirectX is installed at home but as fare as i know not in the company.

If someone could help me to get @least Dos Raine to run on my homesystem, it would help me much.
It starts, the first start message appears and it closes.

If someone could tell me which soundboard is best for mame and raine it would be helpfull too. THXs

eMail me Please to Rainer@cracking.de

W2KP ships with DX7 already installed. DX8a was released about a month ago. DX8 CONTAINS DX7!! If you don't believe me, type dxdiag in your run dialog box and look at the drivers installed.. all the dx7 files are in there.

Do you know you can have win98 and win2k on the same computer? Or if you want you can try to turn down your graphics acceleration one notch. And check what version of directX you have. If you have No.8 DROP IT! Download a program called DXUN to uninstall it. Install DirectX No.7 which you can find on some older game CDs (you won't find it at microsoft.com anymore). Hey JoseQ I guess it's okay to turn this into a troubleshooting forum right? I didn't see a complaint from you on this post. 8()WAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Iverson has been paid off! (If you are slow in the mind, what I mean is that he has been paid off to STINK and lose.)
He himself probably doesn't know where the money delivered to him came from. Of course the payer chooses to be anonymous just like an emu author for legal reasons-and flaming. Who could pay an amount that substanial? Or are we talking about a physical threat to him or his loved ones? Check the stats for yesterdays game 6-13-01 he totally STUNK on purpose.

Okay sorry HozayCue. My suggestion was wrong anyway. It seems that Iverson was playing with bruised ribs. I just heard on tonight's game (game 5). 'Much respect' Iverson, and rock on Equal Ray!

It was about a police car, and it was a driving game from an overhead view.. you had to chase a car with a certain villan down in each level, and then you had to interrogate them by choking them until the cheif came, anybody know what I'm talking about?
