Non-DirectX DirectDraw! - January 23,1999 by JoseQ
If you have had problems installing DirectX on Windows 95/98 or Windows NT, or simply feel the DirectX API slowsyour system down, Larry Bank has developed a DLL that willallow you to run DirectDraw applications that require it (C.A.G.E. and future versions of MAME32) without the need for the complete DirectX set. You can download this DLLHere. You should uncompress this archive into the directory whereyou are storing the application that you plan to run. Thiswill work with "well behaved" applications. Larry is in talks with the MAME32 guys so that they fix their versionof MAME so that it works correctly with this DLL. If youhad been having troubles with DirectX, your prayers havebeen answered.

One Article Up: MAME 0.35 beta 2!
One Article Down: C.A.G.E. to come back soon!
