RockNES on hold as well! - January 30,1999 by JoseQ
Another target of the recent happenings have been theother Nintendo emulation projects. Since Nintendo seemsso determined to take legal action against any projectsthat threaten their grasp on the Video Game market, RockNESauthor has stated that he does not want to take part on thedevelopment of something that is illegal. Until this matterclears up, we will probably continue to see other authorspull out of their projects as well. I hope the Connectixvs. Sony deal will be the milestone that finally proves thatthere's nothing wrong with emulators or reverse-engineering.I sincerely don't understand how there's any doubt on this, since AMD and Cyrix have been doing it for years, and Intelhas failed to stop them.
However, this doesn't mean that you shouldfind UltraHLE from a friend and start downloading N64ROMs. I do find it wrong if you get a hold of those ROMsand play them on your PC if you haven't paid for them. Ifyou have, and you enjoy it, just get one of those consolesNintendo worked so hard designing and delivering to you. Some games like 'Mario64' and Z'elda: Ocarina of time' aredefinitely worth it.

One Article Up: Nofrendo takes a stand!
One Article Down: End of UltraHLE
