If you frequent this site, you might have notice howthe sidebar just shortened a bit. Now there's only "ROMS"and "EMULATORS". Since these are basically one page eachthat changes upon request I decided it would look betterthat way. Also I have more stuff coming into the sidebarso I had to shorten it a bit. Now the Emulator page isdynamically generated in the same way the ROMs page is, soit will be much easier for me to add new EMUs as they comealong. I only have a few emulators in there, but beware asa lot of them will be added shortly. I expect to have everymajor Emulator. If you can provide space for me to host them, that would be excellent.

Well I couldn't get those Retrocade shots I wanted. RCdoes not support screenshots as of yet. So I guess I'm goingto just have to tell you about it. This emulator has someneat features other emulators lack. Like I mentioned earlytoday, it has a volume, treble, bass, brightness bar thatpops in just like those modern TV sets with a green barat the bottom. It looks great.
As far as speed goes oooooh its fast. Atila mentionedon Retrogames thathe finally got Gyruss to run at full speed which he couldntdo with MAME. As for actualy FPS comparison, Blasteroids runat maximum 75FPS on my Pentium Pro 200 using MAME. Check this out! 122FPS on Retrocade and even when the screen isat 640x480 vs 320x200 on MAME. Thats almost twice the speed.
Now for Klax for example, I can get 300% performanceon MAME (180FPS) while only 130 or so FPS on Retrocade. Iguess this one needs further optimization. All of us wereamazed at how good MAME emulated Klax so we can assume itwas pretty much optimized whereas Retrocade is still in Beta.
Warning, not only does Beta mean not optimized, butactually pretty much crippled because code used fordebugging is included in that binary which is some extrabaggage it has to carry, meaning performance will improveonce RC drops those weights.
In conclusion, Retrocade is very impressive. For a firstversion beta, they have really outdone themselve, and Ireally congratulate them on an excellent job. The speed isthere, the ease of use is there, the neatness is there, itis an user product, built with the user in mind. I willprobably play some more games on it later on when I finishuploading all those Emus. Hasta la vista!
