The Rumor Mill - June 03,1999 by JoseQ
And you dare thought that there would be no Rumor Millthis week eh? Well you can stop by the EV Message Board to read a Rumor ReViewdone by anticupid, very good job by him. However, the RumorMill is my department, and even though some of my birdsdid go on a "Memorial Day" holiday weekend as well, someof them did get back to me with some cool inside inforegarding MAME and HiVE. So let's dip right into thisshort edition of the EmuViews Rumor Mill.
Let's just start with some very light rumors on HiVE.It appears that a release nears again, while Master Bankis readying some new drivers for some more Namco games. No titles were made visible to our sources, but work isdefinitely being done. Also, look for Hot Rod compatibilityshowing up in the HiVE camps soon as well, making the HotRod Joystick Control an even more attractive solutionto your Arcade gaming needs.
Some rumors from the MAME layers include the top secretbehind the scenes work on two more games that I'm sure willput a smile on your face. The first one, "Time Soldiers"definitely put a smile on mine when I read the report. Iremember loving this game so much, that even the SMS versionseemed fun. The arcade was a quarter muncher though.
Another game which nears 100% support under the MAMElabel is "Sky Soldier". These two games are about to beadded to the MAME cycle, but it is possible that we won'tsee them until the first MAME 0.36 beta appears (dependingon how many betas keep popping up in the 0.35 cycle).
Well, when birds and spies go on vacation, one mustkeep the Mill short. Next week everything should return tonormal with more stuff appearing. There is also somerumoring about InterViews also making a comeback to EmuViews. It's been a while since we got one, and I believe it's timeto learn more about the people that make this happen. Thanks for reading!
