Emulation Ireland resigns... - June 10,1999 by JoseQ
Something very good, at least in my opinion, has happened regarding the PSEmu Pro leak, and its distribution. The owner of one of the sites that tookpart on the distribution, has sent a note to SAV2880, asa result of his editorial herein EmuViews. In it, he acknowledges his mistake anddecides to close his site for good. Here's the text fromthe note:

"I am the author of Emulation Ireland. I totally agree with your article in EmuViews, and do think I should the emulation scene, but that does not mean I will leave the emulation scene. I am young and did not realize the effect it would have on the PSX scene and on my small little Irish website. I just wanted to prove a point, that emulation should be free. This was my (poor, cheap, add your own adjectives here) attempt at trying to regain some of the Bleem! users back to PSEmu Pro. The PSEmu Pro authors are among (if not) the best emulator writers in the world, and this disrespect for their work was a complete and utter mistake. I have shut Emulation Ireland, which as you may not know, was just some 14 year-old's dream, who wanted to make an impression. Impression I did make, but not a good one. I've decided to start up a different site, which won't be open for a while, which will support with help and manuals, the emulators and the ROMs, I don't think though, it will come to much acclaim as of what I've just done. It was a mistake, a BIG mistake, and an unforgivable mistake. I'd like to apoligise to the emulator's authors, the people who loved (love) PSEmu Pro and everyone who thinks that what I just did was a bad thing, as for all you who don't, well emulation does not need your kind, as it does not need me.".

It definitely seems like the author has repented fromhis actions and would like for everything to be the waythey were supposed to be in the first place. Unfortunatelythis does not mean that PSEmu Pro will come back to life, although I'm sure it would make the author feel just a tadbetter about the whole situation. If he were to change hismind, it would be a bright day for PSX emulation.
